Date of Passing: Feb 21, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE WATTON November 12, 1923 - February 21, 2011 Catherine passed away suddenly at Royal University Hospital, surrounded by those she loved. Catherine was born to parents Norman and Dora McLeod on November 12, 1923 at Norway House, Manitoba. She was married to William George Watton on December 18, 1948. The couple had three children: Elizabeth, Kenneth, and Marion. Marion was born with cerebral palsy and severe cognitive impairment, and as such her care became the primary concern in Catherine's life. On August 12, 1968, Catherine's husband Bill passed away from cancer. Over the next 35 years Catherine devoted her life to caring for Marion in their home in the Mayfair area of Saskatoon. It was there Catherine made a life for them both. She enjoyed reading, following politics, and reminiscing about her days spent in Norway House, as well as the very precious memories she made with Marion and her granddaughters Jessica and Rachelle. Catherine loved her family dearly. She always placed the needs of others ahead of her own, and she will forever be remembered for this. There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Parkridge Centre, 110 Gropper Crescent, Saskatoon, SK S7M 5N9. Family and friends may send condolences from the website www.hillcrestmemorial.ca Arrangements entrusted to Hillcrest Funeral Home, 306-477-4400
