STELLA KOCSIS (nee SZYNKARYK) Stella Kocsis, 91 years, passed away peacefully at Iler Lodge Nursing Home in Essex on February 13, 2011. Reunited with her husband James (1982). Predeceased by her brothers Mike, Steve, Nick, John and Daniel. Survived by stepson James Jr. Kocsis and wife Heather of Windsor and their children Jenny, Don, David and Jeff. Will be missed by many nephews, nieces and cousins in Windsor, Winnipeg and Ottawa. Dear friend of Stella and Ed Moroz and Joy Thurston of Vancouver and Alice and the late Midge Swaigler of Garden Grove, California. Especially missed by the families of cousin Nancy and the late Jack Corbett of Dunnville, ON; cousin Victoria Markow of Grimsby, ON; the families of niece Joanne and husband Peter Schmidt and their children Christina and Robert of Lakeshore, ON; niece Elisabeth and Frank Doak and their daughter Liliane of Ottawa, ON; niece Peggy and husband Wayne of Winnipeg, MB; nephew David Shinkarik and sons Jason and Grant of Winnipeg, MB; nephew Bob and wife Paulette Shinkarik of Winnipeg, MB. Stella was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB where she attended Norquay School. She worked for Eaton's and later moved to Vancouver and worked in a factory to support the war time efforts. She later settled in Windsor and married James in 1954. Stella had many friends in her Windsor neighbourhood and when she moved to Lasalle in her later years she was so grateful to meet many wonderful neighbours in her condo building. Stella was an avid reader and lover of fine classical music. She also adored animals and was especially fond of her precious dog Co-Co. Stella was a talented secretary and bookkeeper. She was a loyal friend and devoted to her family. A very special thank you to all the staff at Iler Lodge Nursing Home, your wonderful care meant so much to Stella and her family. At Stella's wishes, cremation will take place with a private family burial at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A gathering for friends to celebrate her life will be held. Arrangements entrusted to the Marcotte Funeral Home, 12105 Tecumseh Road East, Tecumseh (519-735-2830).
