BRIAN WILLIAM HANSELL August 28, 1942 - February 18, 2011 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Hansell, aged 68, in Clearwater, Florida with his loving family by his side. Brian will be lovingly missed by his wife and soul mate, Beverley ( Blondie to Brian); his daughters Jodi (Steve) and Susan (John); granddaughters Anjelique and Tanisha; brothers Barry (Diana) and Richard (Kathy); sister Patricia (Kevin); sisters-in-law Lynne (Al) and Barbara; many nieces and nephews and his Best Buddy for over 50 years Donnie Chapman. Brian was predeceased by his father Charles, his mother Marjorie, and his brother Jim. Brian had so many accomplishments in life. He was the youngest original co-founder of Dynamic Machine in 1970. His partner (and close friend for over 50 years) Ted Konyk is the only original partner remaining today. Brian cared for his Dynamic Family . In his own words he always said Dynamic wouldn't be anything without the team . His legacy will be carried on in the hearts of the ones he mentored over the years. Brian also had a huge love for cars throughout his whole life. He held many world records in the 1960s in Drag Racing on cars he built himself. The last Dragster he owned with Brian Friesen became #2 in the world in 1988. Throughout all his racing history he had his buddy Donnie by his side. Brian and Bev spent many happy years travelling the world. Their favourite places to be together were in Florida, in their Motorhome, and in recent months at their condo at the beach in Clearwater, Florida. His favourite pastime was doing Sudoku out on the patio or outside the RV and he loved to read his National Dragster Magazines. Brian was always thinking of something innovative he could do in the RV or in our home. Brian will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity and most of all for his sense of humour and quick wit. He was a Master of One Liners. Thanks for being my husband, my best friend and the love of my life. I can honestly say there was never a dull moment in 36 years with you. We will be together again. Thanks for teaching me to be strong because I know you are here with me in my heart telling me what to do next. Love Always, Bev. A Special thanks to Mary Freeman (Brian's nurse at the Mayo Clinic and our great friend). Mary was with us in 1989 when Brian had his first illness and she was with us at the end in Clearwater. At Brian's request, a Celebration of Life will be held in June 2011. In lieu of flowers donations in Brian's memory may be made to Children's Hospital Foundation, CE501-840 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1. And in the end it's not the years in your life that count It's the life in your years - Abraham Lincoln Memory is the diary that we all carry with us - Oscar Wilde Arrangements entrusted to: KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 Condolences may be sent to www.klassenfuneralhome.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My condolences to the loved ones left behind. I met Brian through business and racing and Brian was always an honest and honorable man. The learning of Brian's passing was one of my saddest of my life. I will always remember Brian as a man with strong business ethics, strong morals, but most of all a friend. - Posted by: Jerry Werestiuk: Kildonan Tree Sevice LTD (racing /business, his tennant for over twenty years) on: Feb 10, 2012
