RUTH AMELIA JOHNSON June 4, 1922 - February 21, 2011 Ruth passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on February 21, 2011 at the Grace Hospital with friends at her side. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Cannegiesser, North Bay, ON, nieces Audrey MacNeil (Joseph) and Wendy Hawkins, both of Sydney, NS and Judy Warren, Calander, ON, nephews Gordon and Sheldon Cannegiesser and Doug, Robert and Lloyd Thorne. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Ralph 1999, and her son Keith 2004, her parents John and Christine McLeod, sisters Marguerite Collins and Beulah Thorne and brother Edgar McLeod. Ruth worked at the dental offices of Dr. L. H. Kahanne for ten years, and Doctors L. Karr and L. Soloway for five years. She was then employed by The Bank of Nova Scotia at the Main Branch in Winnipeg for nine years. She retired in 1985. Ruth will forever be remembered for her quick wit and refreshing sense of humour. She always said it as it is. Ruth could startle you with her candor, leaving you speechless with a smile on your face. Her levity would brighten any conversation. She had a special place in her heart for her niece, Audrey MacNeil. Cremation has taken place. At Ruth's request, no service will be held. Interment will be in Goldboro, NS at a later date.
