Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET ELEANOR OSBORN Our precious mother, Violet Eleanor Osborn, went home peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord on February 23, 2011 at the blessed age of 102. Violet was predeceased by her parents Jack and Margaret Smith (1959 and 1971), husband Harold (1988) and her first born infant daughter, Doreen (1937). She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters and son: Marlene (Al) Herman; Ken (of Langley, BC) and Myrna (Dave) Kisil; along with her 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren: Dwayne (Jill) Herman; Michael (Carolyn) Herman - sons Brian and Luke; Deborah (Craig) Judt - sons Jacob and Benjamin; Linda Herman; James (Dawn) Osborn - children Matthew and Ashley; Brad Osborn; Sean (Jennifer) Osborn - sons Jacob and Quinn; Janis (Graham) Roxburgh -children Kate, Alexander, Britton and Tayler; Paul (Michele) Kisil - daughters Lauren and Serah; Sandra (Justin) Copp - children Anabel, Charles and Molly; Stephen (Jaclynn) Kisil - children Kyla and Brady; Peter Kisil. Pallbearers will be six of her eight grandsons - Dwayne, Michael, Brad, Paul, Stephen and Peter. Increasingly needing more assistance with daily living that Home Care could provide, Violet reluctantly moved into Supportive Living at the Waverly Rosewood Retirement Centre for 11 months and then in October 2009 into Calvary Place Personal Care Home. Initially, she enthusiastically participated in the many activities and later continued to enjoy the music services and her Daniel O'Donnell DVDs. She shone brightly for Jesus with her smile and gentle spirit. Our thanks for the wonderful care received from all her care givers during her reclining years, especially to the staff of Calvary Place where both her physical and spiritual needs were met with such compassion. Heartfelt thanks also to family and friends for their prayers and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Churchill Park United Church, 525 Beresford Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3L 1J4, Women's Aglow International, 18 Cambridge Street South, Unit 4, Lindsay, ON K9V 2C3 or Calvary Place Personal Care Home, 1325 Erin Street, Winnipeg, MB R3E 3R6. A celebration of Violet's life will be held on Friday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment and reception to follow.
