JEAN (JOHN) LEMOINE March 24, 1918 - February 11, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on February 11, 2011 at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his parents Edgar and Antoinette (Thibeault); his sisters Jeanne Lemoine and Henriette Rocan. Dad leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 63 years, Andrée (Cormier); children: Nicole (Rob), Arielle (Brian) and Claude; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Jean will also be lovingly remembered by his brothers Henri (Brenda) and Sam (Irene). Dad was born and raised in Ste. Agathe, Manitoba, the eldest of five children. In 1942 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada until November 15, 1945. Our father's happiest moments in life were in simple pleasures such as fishing, gardening and wood-working. Gardening was his passion though Dad spent many hours at his son's home in Grande Pointe where Claude so lovingly built him a small cottage nestled in his garden. From a very early age, Jean struggled with health problems but he was a determined soul. Dad had strong beliefs in the virtue of hard work and claimed it was the secret to his longevity. He had a kind heart, a keen mind and was genuinely grateful for his family. Jean will leave an unfillable void in our lives and we will remember him forever. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the caring staff of the Misericordia Health Centre and Foyer Valade. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's memory to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. In accordance with Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service was held. Condolences may be sent to www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
