MERNA CECELIA CHARLEBOIS (nee Kirkness) Change in Time of Service It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Merna Charlebois on Wednesday February 23, 2011 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 80. Left to cherish her memory, sisters Donna Hare (Reg) and family from Burlington Ontario, Leona Habinski and family from Winnipeg Manitoba, brother Don Kirkness (Corrine) and family from Dayton Nevada, numerous nieces and nephews. Merna was predeceased by her husband Al Charlebois, Mom and Dad Edward and Edna Kirkness, sisters Clarice Budd Adrienne Prince, brother Delmar Kirkness, niece Kim Watkins. She was born December 12, 1930 on Matheson Island, Manitoba. She was a cook all her life by trade. She started on SS Kenora and cooked in numerous camps up north. Her greatest accomplishment was to work on the North West Territories Coast Guard. She was a faithful church member of Calvary Temple since 1952. She attended bible school in Saskatoon, SK. Her actions all through her life were led by the Lord. She was a very passionate human being. Very respectful of all God's children and had a heart of gold. Viewing will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr Street. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. also from the Chapel. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
