JEAN VOGELGESANG (VOGEL) Jean passed away peacefully on February 25, 2011 at the Maples Personal Care Home. She was 96 years old. She was predeceased by parents John and Anna (Huyda) Latoski, husband Joe Vogelgesang, daughter Joyce Leftrook and brother Emil Latoski. Jean will be missed by her two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; granddaughter Lori Leftrook (Paul Assie) of Regina, great-granddaughter Melissa Joehnck Mushikori (Julius), of Seoul South Korea, great-grandson Mathew Joehnck of Regina and grandson Brad Leftrook of Winnipeg. Jean is also survived by nieces and nephews in British Columbia. Jean was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 15, 1914. Jean was an avid homemaker and gardener. She always had a beautiful yard full of flowers and a vegetable garden. She was an amazing cook and one could always expect to do a lot of eating at the many Ukrainian dinners she prepared. She loved to talk and socialize with her many lady friends and play Bingo and cards with them at the Community Club. Jean was a very generous and loving person. She always had a sparkle in her eye and a happy attitude about life in general. Her family would like to express great thanks to the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home and a very special thank-you to Dori Reimer. Funeral Service for Jean will be held in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy. on Friday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. with Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 88 Hespeler Ave.
