LEON PHILIPE CHENIER 1918 - 2011 On Saturday afternoon, February 26, Léon, surrounded by his family, left his earthly home to join his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Florence (Langevin) and nine brothers and sisters. Left to mourn are his children, Denis (Michelle Valmont), Janine, Pierre (Doris Flaxman), Suzanne (John McKenzie), Michelle (Ray Perreault), Jacques (Roberta Wiebe) and nine grandchildren and nine great-grand-children, his brothers Ernest, Lucien and Eddie (Deed), one sister, Thérèse L'Surger and sisters-in-law Mel (Laurent Desjardins) and Lorraine (Doug Hubbert) and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Born March 27, 1918 in St. Boniface, MB, Dad worked in Winnipeg as a furrier for many years and then was employed with Taylor Painting Decorating until his retirement. He and Florence spent many years travelling, golfing and square dancing. Dad you will be deeply missed by all for your sense of humour, good nature, and unconditional love and support. You will live on in our hearts forever. Special thanks to the staff at Victoria General Hospital for their loving and compassionate care during his brief stay. 'Though my flesh and my heart waste away, God is the rock of my heart and my portion forever.' (Psalm 73:26) Informal sharing at 1:00 p.m., funeral at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at St. Timothy Parish, 135 John Forsythe Road.
