GILBERT (GROS) CARRIERE June 10, 1960 - February 26, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of a wonderful Husband, Father, Pepere, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend at the age of 50. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Theresa; sons Darryl (Catharine) and Derek; daughters Ashley and Janelle (Wendell); granddaughters Riley and Rorie; siblings Denis, Henry, Robert, Gilles, Emily, Annette, Yvonne and Lawrence as well as countless cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. He was predeceased by his parents Emile and Ramona Carriere. Gros was born June 10, 1960 in St. Laurent, MB, moments before his twin brother Gilles. He had a happy childhood growing up with his eight siblings. Growing up, Gros was taught the ways of fishing from his father and family values from his mother. In 1978, Gros met the love of his life Theresa. They wed in 1980. Throughout the years they built a home and raised their family in St. Laurent. Darryl, Derek, Ashley and Janelle have fond memories of their childhood with their parents. Gros was a hard worker. His goal was to become the best operator in Manitoba and we believe it is safe to say he achieved just that. His granddaughters Riley and Rorie owned a special place in his heart and he was looking forward to the birth of his third grandchild. The family would like to thank everyone for stopping by, for all the food, flowers, cards and sincere condolences. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church. The service will conclude at the church. Thanks Dad for a lifetime of warm memories, you're an inspiration and forever will be missed. Until we meet again. We will always love you. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
