HANK (DUTCHIE) EGTBERTS December 3, 1942 - February 27, 2011 It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Hank Egtberts. He passed away at the age of 68 after a brave journey with cancer. He will be greatly missed by his wife Renate, his one true love, his children Harry (Sue), Ute (Rick), Susie, Andy (Linda), Jessica, his grandchildren Shawn (Amanda), Nicole, Christine, Amber, Kayla, Maya, Owen, Hailey, Aidan, great-granddaughter Marlee, sister Peggy (Dave) and family, and many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in Holland and Curacao. Hank was born in Sydney, Australia and lived in Holland and Curacao as a young boy. When he was 16, he moved to Canada and joined the Canadian Army. While stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Renate. In 1965 they settled in Calgary to raise their family and later moved to Winnipeg in 1981. Dad loved flowers, gardening, reading, tropical fish and he knew everything about everything. He loved to laugh and his witty sense of humour will be missed by everyone. The memorial service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Highway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
