Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANGELA NELL KEEP March 1, 1911 - February 26, 2011 Peacefully and with dignity Nell slipped from this world to the heaven she so deeply believed was the next stop on her incredible journey. Even as we are missing her, we are happy she is no longer confined and restricted by illness and advanced age. Nell was born in Winnipeg, the oldest child of Anna Stepko and Mikolaj Hamulka. Her two brothers and four sisters predeceased her. Nell lived a full and adventurous life. She lived and worked in Montreal for many years. It was here that she became the beloved aunt of her sisters' families, helping them and participating in their lives with her usual enthusiasm. She loved to travel and experience what life had to offer. In 1961 her spirit of adventure led her back to Winnipeg to marry Arthur Keep, and become an instant mom to Kathie, and a little later to Heather. The next few years Mom was involved in many volunteering situations, including Meals on Wheels with Dad, ushering at Manitoba Theatre Centre, helping out in the local school library and working with new Canadians who were learning English. Mom loved to garden, can and preserve produce, make her own soap. Every aspect of her life was filled with music, friends and family. Art predeceased her in 1981. In 1995, a stroke robbed Mom of her mobility and independence. She faced these trials with courage, and continued to be a powerful source of connection and unity in our family. A Memory Tea was held on February 28 with those who were planning to celebrate her 100th birthday. Nell, Mom, Grannie and friend is survived by daughters Kathie and Heather and their families, nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours. A private interment will be held with her grandchildren Michael, Clint, Graham, Robert, Erin and Laura as pallbearers. If you so desire, memorial donations may be made to Golden West Centennial Lodge. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715
