PATRICIA RICHARDSON It is with deep regret that the children of Patricia (Pat) Richardson announce her death on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Heritage Park Lodge at the age of 79 years. Left to cherish Pat's memory are her children, Rob (Tammy McKinnon), Florence Moreau (Garry), Jim (Darlene McDonald), Bill (Jacquie), Cindy, and Tom; grandchildren Emma, Alison, Nicole, Michael, Rob, Chelsey and Jessica; great-grandchildren Brayden, Isiah and Audrina; as well as her cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Gertrude Hawryk; sister Florence and niece Patty. Pat was born July 11, 1931 and was a long time resident of St. James, and although she moved to other areas of Winnipeg, she always returned to St. James. She was educated at Linwood School and often spoke of her school experiences and growing up on Sackville Street with her parents and sister, Florence. In her early years, Pat was a student of music learning the piano and violin. She enjoyed music, from Elvis to country, throughout her life. In her adult life Pat was an accomplished knitter , making complex and beautiful sweaters for family and friends. The challenging patterns always brought out her determination and intelligence as she solved the various problems that her craft presented. She would rip out several days work to ensure the finished product was perfect. Pat was a kind and warm person, but could be quite determined, to the point of stubbornness when she felt the situation required a strong opinion. She was very sociable and liked to have fun, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. In keeping with our mother's request the family will hold a private service at a later date. In recent years, Pat was a resident of Heritage Lodge and our family would like to thank the staff for the care provided to our mother. Those who wish to honour our mother may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
