Born in Saskatoon, SK, Doug moved to Winnipeg in the mid 1980s. He leaves behind his wife Kim (McCullough), daughter Tabitha, mother-in-law Vi McCullough, brother Brent (Barb), Catlin, Kerry, sister Cindy (Kevin Mess), Jacey (Mike Schuler), great-nephew Kevin, Jeremy (Elisa) Mess, numerous uncles and aunts, cousins, friends, and co-workers at Krown Produce and two very special buddies. Doug was predeceased by his father-in-law John McCullough, mother Sylvia Schmon, stepdad Doug Shmon, Baba Julia Yakubchuk, Geido Bill Yakubchuk. Doug adored watching daddy's little girl Tabitha play sports. He never missed a game. Doug loved football and NASCAR. He was a gentle, kind person, a devoted husband and father. He will be greatly missed. Our wedding cake read Today is the day I married my friend. At Doug's request, cremation will take place and no service will be held. Special thanks to my mom Vi, sister and brothers-in-law Cindy and Kevin Mess and Brent Zintel for all your support and help you have given to Tabitha and myself. Special thanks to the nurses in I.C.U. at St. Boniface Hospital. Thank you all.
