BORIS ZENCHYSHYN 1934 2011 Boris Zenchyshyn passed away on February 26, 2011 at the Swan Valley Health Centre in Swan River, Manitoba at the age of 77 years with his wife Anne at his side. He was born in Ohla, Manitoba on January 8, 1934. Boris will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Anne, daughters Nadia (Bruce) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Orycia (Scott) of Swan River, Manitoba, Sonia (Randy) of Minitonas, Manitoba, son John of Swan River, Manitoba. Grandchildren Dane, Eric, Aaron, Mark, Mila (Morgan), Jyles and great-grandson Cohen. Sisters Lesia (Ernie) and Sonia (Ray) both of Regina, Saskatchewan as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Boris was predeceased by his parents John and Anastasia (Nellie) Zenchyshyn and mother-in-law Julia Badowich. Boris was a very community minded person and got along with both the young and older members of the community. He was a dedicated member of town council for two terms. Boris' love for song was known in church choirs, barbershop and community events. In 1968 Boris purchased a business in Swan River and established Swan Valley Tire and Leisure Centre which he successfully ran for over 25 years. Family was very important to Boris. He loved his wife Anne and adored his children and doted on his grandchildren. He met his great-grandson Cohen while in hospital. During his lifetime Boris accomplished many things. He was always ready to help or assist in any way. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Holy Ascension in Swan River, Manitoba. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. from the Descent of the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1305-12th Avenue in Regina, Saskatchewan. Interment will take place in the Riverside Memorial Cemetery, Regina, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Boris' memory can be made to St. Andrews College, 27 Dysart Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 2M7, the Swan Valley Museum, Box 2078, Swan River, Manitoba R0L 1Z0 or to a charity of your choice.
