Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET (PEGGY) HAMILTON BURNS (nee JACKSON) Mom, Grandma, Grammie Burns Margaret Peggy Hamilton Burns was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on April 9, 1922, one of nine siblings. Her family immigrated to Nova Scotia when she was five, and she was raised in Springhill. Peggy married Harry Burns in Amherst, in October of 1941, and they had four children. They moved to Toronto in 1951, to Winnipeg in 1955 then to Dryden in 1981 before moving back to Winnipeg in 1985. Peggy loved bowling, knitting, travelling and most of all her family. She was a proud longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Peggy is survived by daughters, Catherine, (Ian) Gordon, Tracey Murphy, ( OJ Simpson), and sons Bill, (Cathy) Burns, and Robert Burns, (Darlene Carr); as well as nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Harry in December, 1989 as did her eight siblings throughout the years. She moved to Rocky View Lodge in Crossfield, AB, in 2010, and enjoyed meeting new friends, and taking part in their activities. Peggy loved life and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. We will miss her so much. We thank all the staff and residents of Rocky View for their kindness and caring of Mom, and also to the nurses and doctors at Peter Lougheed Hospital in her last days. We love you Mom.
