Anna was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm before moving into Rosetown. After receiving her Grade 12 she moved to Vancouver where she worked for Boeing Aircraft during the war. It was at this time she met Ernest, who was stationed outside of Vancouver, and were married on June 27, 1944. They moved back to Arborg to live and raise their family on the farm. Anna enjoyed contributing to the community through the Framnes Ladies Aid, Arborg Agricultural Society, and the Senior's Club. She loved gardening and watching her flowers bloom. Anna took great pleasure in travelling whenever she had the opportunity, even backpacking in Europe at the age of 78. Mom was always very active but when the work was done, she would enjoy sitting with family and friends for a friendly game of cards, board games or bingo. The family would like to thank all the Home Care workers for the excellent care given to Mom over the past few years. Also a thank you to her many friends at the Lodge who would stop by to visit or play the daily penny bingo game. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Arborg-Geysir Lutheran Church with Pastor Bruce Zinken officiating. Interment to follow at the Haga Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna's memory may be made to Arborg-Geysir Lutheran Church or the Haga Cemetery. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
