GEORGE MOLNAR It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, George Molnar. He passed away on March 3, 2011 at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his loving wife Marg, son Chris, daughter-in-law Susie, granddaughters Katie and Anna, and son Andy. George is also survived by his sister Judy and brother-in-law Joe, sisters-in-law Denise and Vickie, brothers-in-law Bill and Reg and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Jozsef. He was born in Maglod, Hungary and immigrated to Canada in 1956 where he settled in Ottawa with his parents and sister. George was in the military for 28 years and traveled widely, with overseas postings to Germany and the Middle East. He was a soup connoisseur and proudly cooked Hungarian meals for family and friends. He was a history buff and loved to read, collect stamps and garden. He cherished and loved his two granddaughters, singing, playing, reading to them and visiting the zoo to see the peacops as Katie would say. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Thank you to CancerCare and the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare, 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 would be appreciated. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
