ELLIOT GEORGE TREACY It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Elliot Treacy on March 5, 2011 in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 50. Elliot will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by Shirley, his wife of 26 years, his brother Barry (Janette), sister Dianne (Marcel), as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Elliot is predeceased by his mother Mae and father Ernest. Elliot was born in Saskatoon, SK in 1960 and moved to Emma Lake at the age of 10 where he spent many winters snowmobiling across the frozen lakes. After high school graduation, he moved back to Saskatoon to take a job with the C.N.R. He married his wife Shirley in 1984 and moved to Winnipeg. At the time of his death, he was working as a heavy duty mechanic for the Manitoba Department of Highways. He loved the outdoors, Nascar auto racing, motorcycling, airshows and Lee Valley tools. He had many hobbies, including plastic model building, wood working, metal fabrication, photography, growing clematis, and travelling with his wife. He was known for his sense of humour, love of double-doubles, and his generous and caring spirit. He will be sadly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, March 12 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H. presiding. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior.
