GLORIA ANN JAMERSON August 14, 1949 - March 5, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of our Sister, Niece, Auntie and Friend, after a brief illness. Left to cherish Gloria's memory are brother Bob (Karen) Jamerson; sister Debbie; nieces: Rayne, Sable and Chantal; nephews Bryce and Kyle, and their families; aunts: Ruth, Eunice (Bob) and Emma; as well as life friend Brian Burland. She was predeceased by parents Dorothy and Frank Jamerson. Gloria was a lifelong resident of Winnipeg the first of three children. At an early age she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, a condition that denied her the use of her legs and severely limited mobility of her hands and arms. Although confined to a wheelchair, dependent on others for care these are the circumstances which defined and determined the personality and character that was Gloria. Her ability to make the best of whatever the situation she happened to be. To ask for help, without demanding it, letting you know a sense of gratitude, that you have genuinely made a difference to her. Gloria's life goal to live independently would have been unthinkable. But because of the efforts of organizations in the disabled community she found a home of her own. She lived at the HIDI Qu'Appelle Project independently for over 25 years her greatest accomplishment. On Friday, March 11, 2011 Gloria's Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. We would like to express our sincere thanks, to the Organizations, Agencies and staff within, for making Gloria's dream comes true, as well as to the staff of HIDI Qu'Appelle, Community Respite and all of her friends, for your contribution to what was a successful life. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Gloria's memory may be made to the Society of Manitoban's with Disabilities, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5; the Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba, Unit 105-500 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3X1 or the Winnipeg Human Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
