Stanley began his career with the Canadian Bank of Commerce (CIBC) after graduation in 1934. With the outbreak of the Second World War, Stanley enlisted with the RCAF and was assigned to the wireless detachment. Stanley was discharged at the conclusion of the war and resumed his career with the bank. Throughout his career, Stanley was the manager of several branches in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Northwestern Ontario, eventually settling in Winnipeg. Stanley and Helen were married in November 1955. He was active in the Kiwanis Club for many years. In 1974, after 42 years of service with the bank, he went on to enjoy a long and comfortable retirement. Stanley enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him much happiness. In 2003, Dad moved to Donwood Manor and was cared for with dignity, respect and compassion by all staff. Our family would like to thank the staff at Donwood for their exceptional care and attention. In accordance with Stanley's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
