NANCY GOMEZ (nee CARANTES) June 20, 1925 March 13, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Nancy Carantes Gomez, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, surrounded by her family. Left to cherish her memory are her children in Winnipeg, Poy Gomez (Cris), Allan Gomez (Eneth), Danny Gomez (Sally), in Los Angeles her daughter Linda Gomez and in the Philippines Manding Gomez (Ming) and Patrick Gomez (Susan), her grandchildren Letlet, Ruel, Reyna Stevenson (Adam), Almyra, Edgar (Maureen), Earl, Dante, Pio, Yasmin, Ron-ron, Mighty and Russel, great-grandchildren Dreden, Owen, Joshua and Arielle as well as numerous nephews, nieces and relatives. She was born and raised in Baguio City and was very proud of her native Ibaloi roots. She was predeceased by her husband Francisco in 1983. Afterwards, she came to Canada in 1986 and lived independently by herself for 25 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching Jeopardy and testing her vast knowledge against her friends, kids and grandchildren. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The family would like to thank the staff of the East Wing, 3rd Floor of the Riverview Health Care Centre for their compassionate and loving care. Viewing (Lamay) will take place on Thursday, March 17, 2011 and Friday, March 18, 2011 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB, from 7:00 p.m. to midnight.
