Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRACE MURIEL MACKINDER Grace passed after a courageous battle with various illnesses on March 3, 2011 at Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 85. She is survived by her beloved son Eric; nieces and nephews in England and Canada, as well as family in Ontario. Grace was predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley, parents Eric and Eleanor, sister Kathleen, and brother Norman. Grace was born in Sheffield, England, and served with the A.T.S. Regiment in the Second World War. She worked for many years as a cook in hospitals and private industry. She came to Canada in 1984. Grace loved the Coast and the Moors of the United Kingdom and loved her visits to Cape Breton. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 25 years, in the St. James Branch #4. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Sheila Domke, her G.P. and confidante for many years, Rev. Linda Parsons of St. Phillips Anglican Church, Al Cootes and the St. James Legion, the Kidney Clinic staff at St. Boniface Hospital and the Doctors, Nurses, and Support Staff at Deer Lodge Centre. The funeral for Grace will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 1-452 Dovercourt Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3Y 1G4. Those who believeth in Him shall have Eternal Life.
