LORRAINE PARKER (nee PLOUFFE) 1943 - 2011 Mom passed away peacefully on March 14, 2011 with her family at her side. Lorraine was born May 25, 1943 to Joseph and Rose Plouffe of Sifton Municipality. She married John, the love of her life in 1962. They spent 38 wonderful years together. Lorraine was a very loving and caring person. She was always very proud and supportive of her family. She was blessed with four grandchildren which she adored and who gave her much joy and love. After John died in 2000, Lorraine moved to Selkirk, MB where she made many friends. She enjoyed going to the various Bingos in town with her friends. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and of the Over 60 Club. She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and her husband John. She is survived by her son Walter (Grace); her daughter Margaret (Orville) and her four grandchildren Peter, Melissa, Brittany and Kellie. Also her sister Elise, her brothers Lucien (Lori) and Edward (Lorraine), sister-in-law Ann, brother-in-law Art (Mona) and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. Many thanks to the Selkirk Hospital Emergency Department and the ambulance staff who, in a blizzard, got mom safely to Health Sciences Centre. Also to the doctors and staff at Health Sciences Centre CCU. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation.
