CLAUDETTE SPENCE (PUDDY) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our most beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, mother, grandmother and friend Claudette Spence (Puddy), age 38 of the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation. Claudette was predeceased by her grandparents Ester Spence and Cook Chief, uncle David and her nephew Corey Michael Guttormson. Claudette leaves to mourn her precious sons Jon Paul, Quinton and Zachary, grandson Xavier and her very special friend Jeff Sanderson, her mother Mabel Spence, sisters Jackie Pommer (brother-in-law Robert) Cory McFarlane of Toronto and Joy Sutton of Saskatoon, brothers Gary Spence (sister-in-law Sonja) of Vancouver, Tim Spence and (Stephanie). She also leaves to mourn her very special nieces which she adored Jessica Guttormson, Samantha Pommer, Breanne Spence and her amazing nephews Stephan Stagg, Tristen Guttormson, Michael McDougall, Jarred and Ryan Spence. Claudette had many special cousins, aunts and uncles who will all miss her dearly. Claudette had many close friends especially Rose Flett and Gil Stevenson which is only a few that she spent many hours of laughter and good company. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff of the first responders unit and the Percy E. Moore Hospital in Hodgson, MB for the love and care of our Mommy, Grandma, Daughter, Sister, Auntie, Niece and Friend. A wake service will be held at Claudette's residence at the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation 2 Turtle Lane, Wednesday March 16 and 17, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB with Father Sebastian officiating, followed by cremation. Pallbearers are Stephan Stagg, Mellissa Neal, Cecilia Cote, Louise Berker, Jenny Desjarlais and Sara Cochrane. Honorary Pallbearers are Winston Spence, Jon Spence, Dana Quantrill, Greg Spence, Ivan Spence and Robert Pommer. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
