HELGA HAWCHUK (nee HARDER) January 15, 1950 March 15, 2011 It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and daughter Helga. Leaving to cherish her memory are her husband Steve (of 35 years), daughter Cindy Scott (Paul) and son Andrew, mother Valentine Harder, sister Mary (Lorne) and sister-in-law Erika, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helga was predeceased by her father Peter, brother George and two infant siblings. Helga was actively involved with her family, gardening, photography and various business ventures over the years. Helga was born on January 15, 1950 in Paraguay and came to Winnipeg in 1957. She had an extensive circle of friends with whom she spent wonderful times. She loved to travel and was fortunate to see many exotic places in Europe, New Zealand and Mexico and also travelled extensively in North America. Anyone who met Helga would not forget her warmth and generous nature. Thank you to all the family, neighbours and friends who helped Helga during this difficult journey. Memorial service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Reception will follow.
