CATHERINE (KAY) STRATYCHUK (nee FILEWICH) Peacefully, after a brief illness, it is with deep pain and regret that we announce the death of Catherine Stratychuk on Friday, March 11, 2011 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 83 years. Left to mourn Catherine's memory is her beloved husband Donald, of 53 years of marriage, and beloved son Perry; as well as by five sisters and brothers; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents and eight siblings. Catherine took great pride and interest in her family, home, gardening and her skills as chef and talent as cake decorator. She was a classy lady, an intelligent and stylish person, who stood out as an individual amongst everyone she knew and met. A special thank-you is sent to the ICU staff at the Grace Hospital for their professionalism and compassion. As Wife, You did the things that counted That I'm thankful for today As Mother, you brought me up so lovingly With so much thought and care You have always given so unselfishly The sacrifices you made for us You helped and encouraged us To always do our best You understood and gave us hope That no one else could do In a world of uncertainty Nothing means more than knowing Your love and loyalty Only grew stronger
