LOUIS P. REY Peacefully, in his sleep, our Dad, Louis P. Rey, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Taché Centre at the age of 82. Dad worked for Dominion Bridge in construction sales for 41 years until his retirement in 1991. He pursued his two great passions - golfing and curling, all his life. Dad was also very proud of his two holes in one. He was a huge sports fan and enjoyed following the games on TV. Mom and Dad hosted many New Year's dinners; and Dad and Louise continued the tradition with their famous New Year's Day brunches. He leaves behind brothers, Peter (Carol) and Georges (Iris), and sisters, Mathilde Gautron (Henri), Georgette Badiou (Marcel), Rose Sawchuk (Alex), Peggy Philippot (Charles), Bernadette Galbraith (Robert) and Jeanne Dedieu (Louis). He is survived by his children, Marilyn Ouimet (Guy), Monique Bockstael (John), Denis (Marjie), Arthur (Jacqueline), and Claudette, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his stepfamily. Dad was predeceased by his first wife, Rolande Tougas and their son, Donald (Audrey); second wife, Louise Bergeron; his brother, Joe (Cecile); his sisters, Lorette Coppell (Robert), and Marie Allec (Joseph). The family would like to thank Taché Centre for the excellent care he received, especially Carmelle, Gisèle and Jennifer and the staff on 4DE. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 26 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette Church, 820 Cottonwood Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with Father Fred Olds presiding. Private family interment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Dad's name can be made to the Parkinson Society Manitoba, 7-414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R2J 1P2 or Taché Centre, Les amis de Taché Friends, 185 Despins, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2B3. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220.
