LORRAINE PHYLLIS MARTIN (nee BARON) 1934 - 2011 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lorraine Phyllis Martin on March 15, 2011, a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Wayne (Barbara) of Edmonton, Robert (Colleen), Arlene, Darryl (Sharon) of Burnaby, British Columbia; three grandchildren, Lisa (Ed), Kelly (Jason) and Lindsay; and seven great-grandchildren, Morgyn, Holly, Mikyla, Allison, and Kieryn, Avry and Jaevyn. She will also be missed by brothers-in-law, Ted and Walter and other extended family. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred in June 2009; her parents, Elizabeth and William; her sister Eileen; and brothers, Elwood, Leonard and Johnny. Lorraine was born in Herbert, Saskatchewan on January 16, 1934. She married Fred in 1952 and raised four children in the St. Vital area. As a young woman, she worked at Western Paper Box. Anytime was a wonderful time to stop by and visit Mom, especially if you were hungry! Mom was an amazing cook and would spoil us with homemade soup and cinnamon buns, the best potato salad in the world, borscht, perogies, pies, cookies and an endless list of great food. She found pleasure in gardening and was known for her beautiful yard of showy flowers and huge tomatoes. In keeping with Lorraine's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-665 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9. NEIL BARDAL INC. • Lorraine was my Aunt and I remember the many stories about growing up with her sister, my mother Eileen that she would tell me. My mother & her would teach me how to make pirogies frOm scratch and whenever her & my uncle Freddie ( RIP) would come to visit I do my best to serve ‘em up! My prayers pour out to my cousins & all family members. 🙏🙏God Bless.! Speak of her often & her name will live on in our memories! - Posted by: Theresa (Drysdale) Lutzker (Niece) on: Sep 12, 2019
