LENA BRAUN (nee KOZUB) April 14, 1915 - March 3, 2011 It is with deep sadness that the family of Lena Braun announces her passing at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband John on May 17, 1970, her parents Wasyl 1947, Warwara 1964, brothers, Nicholas 1966, Harry 1970, Sam 1967, Alex 1908, Theodore 1999, Daniel 1994, Michael 1998, Annie 1971, Mary 1985, Jessie 1999, and Tina 1994. Survived by her sister Rose of Selkirk, Manitoba, as well as many nieces, nephews and wonderful neighbours. Auntie Lena was born on the farm in Hayek, Manitoba. Her first job was for a farmer outside Winnipeg. Her next job was as a housemaid in Winnipeg. During the 1930s she worked in multiple restaurants in Winnipeg. A lot of these closed because of the depression, but eventually she found work in Kenora, Ontario. She returned to Winnipeg where she worked in a sewing factory until she retired. Lena loved gardening, travelling, bowling and cooking. Over the years she had many pets, these included canaries, budgies, dogs and finally her cat Ticky. As per her wishes Auntie Lena has been cremated and will be laid to rest beside her dear Johnny at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, on May 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, or the Children's Hospital if so desired. Until we meet again Vichnaya Pamyat (Forever Remembered)
