DORIS MARY COUTURE August 18, 1916 - February 22, 2011 Peacefully on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Red River Place Personal Care Home, Doris Couture, aged 94 years, a lifelong resident of Selkirk, passed away. Doris was the dear aunt of Bonnie Goertzen (Jake), Neil Bruneau (Ellen Peel), Terry Bruneau (Bonita), Del Bruneau, Joyce Kubash (Steve), and their families. She was predeceased by her first husband Hugh Miller and her second husband Lawrence Couture. She was also predeceased by her parents Jean-Baptiste and Bella Harriet, her brother Lefoy Bruneau, her sister Marie Bennett, her nephew Gordon Bennett and her niece Peggy Massey. In addition to her family, Doris will be remembered by many friends including her long time neighbours Sigga Mitchell and Audrey and Larry Woychyshyn. Doris was a loving, generous person who enjoyed a long and happy life. Doris was receptionist for Dr. W. S. Easton for nearly 40 years - a position which brought her into contact with countless people. She had great respect for Dr. Easton and took pride in her work. For years she and Laurence travelled extensively in Canada, Great Britain, Europe, the Caribbean and many other destinations. She had very happy memories of their travels. The family appreciate the care provided to Doris by staff at Red River Place, many of whom she considered to be her friends. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. A memorial service to celebrate her life will take place at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2011. Flowers are gratefully declined.
