SARAH KATHERINE MAY MORRISSEAU (nee Sabiston) November 12, 1907 - March 11, 2011 Sarah was born on November 12, 1907 in Fairford, Manitoba to James and Jemima Sabiston. She was predeceased by her husband Marcel, her mother Jemima, her father James and nine siblings William (Rose) Sabiston, John Sabiston (Dorothy), Alfred Sabiston, Walter Sabiston, Liz Moar (Frank) and her stepbrothers Howie, Louie and Francis Sabiston and three step-children Marianne Moar (James), Maggie Dumas (Roy) and Harvey Morrisseau (Laverne) Sarah leaves to mourn her passing and cherish many fond memories: her son Alfred (Beth), her grandchildren Marcel (Charlene), Kimberly (Mamadou), her great-grandchildren Jade, Wade, McKayla, Geremiah, and Awa, her great-great-grandchildren Damien, Julian, Dominic and Daiden along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Sarah lived in Meadow Portage with her family until she married her husband Marcel on October 9, 1940 and they moved to Crane River. Together they had one son Alfred (aka Sunny) and raised him at Sandy Point along with their grandson Clifford Lamy. They accumulated a herd of cattle, fished and trapped. Her untiring energy kept her busy milking cows, making cream and butter, knitting mitts, socks and scarves, sewing beautiful quilts and making bread only to name a few of her tasks. She was never too busy for her family and friends, and would stop whatever she was doing to feed whoever entered her home. Eventually Sarah and Marcel moved into Crane River and then retired to their home near their son Alfred and his family. They remained there until they moved to the seniors' residence in Crane River and then on to the Dr. Gendreau Memorial Personal Care Home in Ste. Rose du Lac. Prayers were offered on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services, Ste. Rose Chapel. Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Crane River, Manitoba. Pastor Howard Burnie officiated with the interment following in the Crane River Roman Catholic Cemetery. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services, Ste.
