ROBERT H. PEARCE Peacefully, at the Riverview Health Centre, on Monday, March 14, 2011, Robert Pearce beloved husband of the late Betty Pearce passed away at the age of 85 years. Robert was predeceased by his loving wife Betty, his parents Frank and Florence Pearce. He will be lovingly remembered by their children: Jack (Ingrid), Jim (Sharon), Bill (Vikki), Jeff (Cindy), grandchildren: Jaclyn (Jeff), Tracy, Jamie, Jay, Aric, great-grandchild Mia and three sisters-in-law: Roberta, Eileen, Donna (Brian) and their families. Robert was born August 1, 1925 at Fort William, Ontario. He was employed with the C.N.R for 45 years; retiring in 1987. He was the Past Master of Lord Selkirk Lodge #137 affiliated with St. John's Lodge #4. He was President of the Khartum Temple Chanters, 1995 and 1999, Worthy Patron Fort Garry Chapter #17 and a member of the Scottish Rite. Bob's favourite pastimes were golfing, fishing, riding around on his lawn tractor and spending time with his family. Nothing made him happier than sitting in his backyard on a warm, sunny day having a beer with his boys. Dad will be remembered for his big boisterous laugh and a grin that stretched from ear to ear. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Robert's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. A private family interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert is now reunited with his beloved Betty. Special thanks to the Kris Springer and the Home Care Palliative Nurses, in particular Harriet, Olga, Tess and Kelly; Randy Kupchik and Rosemary Hughes from the VA; his longtime physician Dr. F. Salem; Dr. Czaykowski, Denise Klassen from CancerCare and all the volunteer drivers and treatment room nurses; Anita and healthcare aids Joshua and Yunusa for all your loving care given to Robert and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Robert to the CancerCare Foundation of Manitoba.
