JOHN WAYNE SORENSEN Peacefully on March 17, 2011 Wayne Sorensen passed away after a valiant battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his son Kristian, grandchildren Blake and Anton, his dear friend Ellie Buddick and mother Anna James, as well as family and friends. Born in Winnipeg in 1949, most of Wayne's adult life was spent in Los Angeles. Wayne was an avid sports fan and was especially passionate about hockey. He was very creative with his mind and hands. He enjoyed crafts and many of his crocheting was donated to charity. We sincerely thank CancerCare, Manitoba, staff of H4 at HSC, and Home Care of their compassion and support. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Temple, Buntain Chapel, 400 Hargrave St. In lieu of flowers donations in Wayne's memory may be made to CancerCare, MB.

  • I just found out about his passing and I'm sorry for his loss. Wayne was such a unique person with all sorts of talents. It always amazed me to watch such a big man wield his crochet/knitting needles with such finesse. I hope he developed a relationship with his beloved son. Kristian, he was so very proud of you. He always wanted you to love him for the person he was and I hope you learned to do so. I loved him very much and wish things could have been different. I will continue to hold him, you, Anna and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Bless you all ... Valorie. - Posted by: Valorie Farmer (Old friend) on: Apr 28, 2012
