Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARK ALEXANDER TAYLOR WADDELL After a brief, but virulent bout with influenza, Mark Waddell, 55, died unexpectedly at his home in Edmonton, AB on Monday, March 14, 2011. The Lord laid him gently on His shoulder and took him to his eternal home. Mark Alexander Taylor Waddell was born September 7, 1955 in Altona, MB. He grew up and attended school in Dominion City and graduated from Red River College in Winnipeg. He was a long term employee of Shell Oil Canada. He was the beloved baby brother of his four older sisters and favourite uncle to his nieces and nephews. His passion for fixing and repairing things started at an early age. His father died when he was 14 and his mother worked hard to instill in him the importance of strong character, integrity and compassion - the very characteristics that would define him throughout his life. Mark was a loving, giving person. He would do anything to help family or friends, but he never sought praise or recognition in return. His kindness permeated every part of his being. He was a good and gentle man; his motives were unselfish and pure. Mark will be greatly missed by his sisters Shelagh (Walter) Wiebe, Winnipeg, Shannon (John) Friesen, Calgary, Sandra (Gary) Kenner, Chippewa Falls and Pamela Clemens, Dominion City, their families and close friend Giselle Williams. He is also survived by his children Brooke, Angela and Amber and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie Taylor Waddell and his stepdaughter Ann-Marie Waddell. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2011, at the United Church in Dominion City, MB with the Rev. Bob and Myrna Stark officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Church, Box 238, Dominion City, MB R0A 0H0.

I was saddened to learn of Mark's death. It is my hope that this message will find its way to Mrs. Shelagh Wiebe. I was much older than Mark and Had not met him. His untimely death must have brought deep sorrow to his remaining family. It is my hope that I might connect with his sister Shelagh of whom I have treasured memories. Deep admiration for your mother and father. - Posted by: Cliff Ginn (acquaintance, Dominion City) on: May 02, 2020
