SUSIE PENNER GOERTZEN (nee NEUFELD) 1922 - 2011 On Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Susie Penner Goertzen aged 89 years of Winkler, MB passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Lorna and Clarence Dyck of Steinbach, Irene and Jack Suderman of Winnipeg; three sons, Wally and Sylvia Penner of Steinbach, Vic and Carol Penner of Steinbach, John and Jackie Penner of Yorkton, SK and their families as well as six step-children, Anne and Henry Hoeppner, Mary and Ted Petkau, Judy and Len Funk, Esther and Larry Toews, Jake (Jr.) Goertzen, Ernie and Charlotte Goertzen and their families. She is survived by one sister, Annie Janzen, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Marion Penner, three sisters-in-law, Helen Falk, Mary Falk and Dorothy Penner. She was predeceased by her first husband, David P. Penner in 1987 and second husband, J.J.F. Goertzen in 2010 as well as her brother, Cornelius Neufeld and her parents, Dr. K.H. and Susie Neufeld. Viewing will be on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Wiebe Funeral Home, 121 8th St. in Winkler. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church, 252 6th St. with interment prior to the service at 12:00 p.m. at Winkler Cemetery. We, the family want to thank the home care workers, Doctors, nurses and especially the Palliative Care medical team for their care of our mother, Susie Penner Goertzen and for us as a family. Donations may be made in Susie's memory to either the Mennonite Central Committee or to the Winkler Bergthaler Mennonite Church, both available at the church.
