BARBARA ANN VOKEY (nee ALEXANDER) August 27, 1948 - March 21, 2011 Barbara Vokey, beloved mother to Narda (Greg) and Marina, passed away with her family at her side in Winnipeg on March 21, 2011 at the age of 62. Barbara was born in Minnedosa and moved to Winnipeg in 1959. Barbara was considered by all that knew her to be a kind, compassionate and caring person always quick to make someone laugh or smile. She was a daughter, a mother, and a proud grandmother. Barb loved to travel to see her grandsons in Calgary and Ottawa, enjoyed a crazy European vacation and an even crazier trip to Banff with both daughters and family. She loved to sew and was a fantastic homemaker. Barbara is survived by her daughters Marina Vokey of Ottawa, ON and Narda Baird (Greg Baird) of Calgary, AB; her mother Marie Alexander of Winnipeg, MB; her brothers and sister Brian Alexander (Marian), Ian Alexander, Jim Alexander (Sally), Bruce Alexander and Annette Gray (nee Alexander); two grandsons Richard Vokey-Gravel and Brody Baird as well as many nieces and nephews. Barb was predeceased by her father William (Bill) Alexander June 24, 1994. Barbara will be sadly missed by all who came in contact with her.
