Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRANT WESLEY PANTING After a brief, but courageous, battle we are sad to announce the death of our beloved, husband, father and Papa on March 22, 2011. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 44 years, Helen; his son Brent (Leif); daughter Barb; brother Gary (Nadine); sisters, Fran (Ben) and Judy (Robert); and his two special grandsons, Camden and Diaz. Grant will also be greatly missed by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Grant was predeceased by his father Frank in 1981 and his mother Dorothy in 1986. Grant was born on September 23, 1940 in Selkirk, Manitoba and spent his whole life in and around Lockport, Manitoba. Grant married the love of his life on November 19, 1966. Grant and Helen settled in Lockport and raised their family. He worked for many years as a truck driver and this allowed him to travel all over the country, often taking his young family with him for an adventure. In his spare time he could always be found tinkering with one thing or another. Grant's love of driving kept him working long after he could have retired. In most recent years Grant found joy in spending time with his two grandsons, Camden and Diaz who liked to keep him on his toes by going to the park, Zellers and Burger King. Grant shared his love of driving with the boys this past summer by taking them on a two week adventure to British Columbia. We would like extend our appreciation to the doctors and nurses of GH-7 at Health Sciences Centre as well as the nurses at Selkirk Hospital for all their special care. A celebration of Grant's life will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB with Rev. Virginia Coleman presiding. Fellowship to follow in the Selkirk Friendship Centre Basement Hall. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
