(nee EYLANDS) April 28, 1927 - March 15, 2011 At Sunnybrook Hospital after a brief, but valiant, fight against leukemia. Survived by husband of 58 years, William, and four children, five grandchildren and spouses: Daniel (Allison and Jill), Lucinda and Richard McKinnon (Lillian), Lilia Elianne Lawler, and Lisa and Maxime Boutin (Philip and Gerard), great-grandchildren, Kyrin Gray Lawler-Harrison and Rowan Fielding McKinnon. Dolores will be mourned by her sisters and spouses, Elene and David Oakley of Gimli, and Lilia and Barry Day, of Keene, ON, sisters-in-law Barbara Eylands of Phoenix AZ, Ruth McCracken and lifelong family friend Johanna Nielsen, and numerous nieces and nephews who knew and loved her as Aunty Dodo . Early years were in North Dakota and Bellingham, WA; her adolescence and university years in Winnipeg, graduating from the University of Manitoba in 1951. She commenced her career as a hospital lab technician and later, with children becoming independent, a university lab demonstrator at both Sir George Williams and Carleton. She enjoyed retirement years in the Toronto area. Dolores lived a full and constructive family life, one which truly contributed to a better world, in her typically modest and unassuming way. The family will celebrate Dolores' life at St. John's York Mills Anglican Church Chapel, 19 Don Ridge Drive, Toronto on April 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers friends may make a charitable donation to the Sunnybrook Foundation, Odette Cancer Centre, if they so desire.
