Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERMAN THIESSEN In the early morning sunshine on March 23, 2011, Herman passed away peacefully, at the age of 85, at Deer Lodge Centre. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Katherina, his wife Ann (nee Hildebrand), and sister Susan. Herman will be very much missed by his only daughter, Beverley (Michael), also his siblings Harry, Ray, Leona, Elvera, Lawrence and their families. Herman was born and raised in Lowe Farm, MB on June 22, 1925. He moved to Winnipeg at an early age where he met and married Ann Hildebrand in June of 1950, right in the middle of the Great Flood. He worked at Blackwood Beverages for many years and had many fond memories of the people he met along the way. He also operated a few coffee shops with his wife Ann. He moved to British Columbia in 1977 and lived there until the spring of 2008 at which time he moved into his new home at Deer Lodge Centre. The highlight of the week was Wednesday night dinners at the Silver Heights with his daughter and a stroll around the neighbourhood. Dad loved telling stories and good jokes and his dry sense of humour and quick wit always brought a good laugh. Special thanks to the caring staff at Deer Lodge on 3 East and Tower 4, where Herman lived his last three years. You truly are angels on earth! As was his wish, cremation will take place and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Herman's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald, Winnipeg, or to a charity of your choice. Dad, you will be missed always.
