Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMYRTLE JEAN ARMSTRONG Peacefully, with family by her side, Jean passed away on March 21, 2011 at Grace General Hospital. Jean is survived by her family in Winnipeg, daughter Betty Stephenson (Brad), daughter Susan Hamilton, and grandchildren, Cathy, Heather, and Bryn. She is also survived by her sister Sharon Couper of Delta, BC. Jean was predeceased by her husband Donald, and his brother Jerry of San Francisco, California. The daughter of Alan and Florence Rose Flack, Jean was born March 6, 1924 in Swift Current, SK. Jean served in the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War for which she was awarded a Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Jean and Donald met in the R.C.A.F. They married in 1945 in Dauphin, MB, and were married for 63 years. Jean had a sharp mind and was an avid reader. She enjoyed playing bridge, bowling and golf at the Assiniboine Golf Club. Family was very important to Jean. She was a caring woman who was supportive of her children and grandchildren's endeavors. She was an integral part of our daily lives, and she will be missed by us all. The family would like to thank Jean's friends, and the staff at Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts (Ness Avenue) who enriched Jean's life over the past few years. In accordance with Jean's wishes, there will be a private family service.
