TRUDY MATHEWS September 5, 1934 - March 22, 2011 After a long, tough battle with Alzheimers, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Trudy Mathews, dear wife to Mindy for 58 years, loving mom to Phil and Lori, and wonderful Nana to Brody, Nikki, Megan, Siggi and great-granddaughter Emma. Mom loved her family, took great pleasure in time spent together and just loved being a Nana. Whether it was a walk to the lake with the grandkids or a sing song around the fire, she made all those times special and fun. Mom was known for her giggly personality, great sense of humour and fun spirit. Mom loved music and especially loved time with her siblings when the musical instruments came out and the real fun began. Mom grew up on a farm outside of Lundar, Manitoba with her parents and eleven siblings. She met and married Mindy 58 years ago and they shared a wonderful life together raising their kids and enjoying their shared love of golf. They belonged to Breezy Bend Golf Club for many years where good games were had and great friends were met. Mom and Dad moved to the old Mathews homestead on the lake in Oak Point in 1987. We all enjoyed many great times there with family and friends, including a Malcolm family reunion and a few years later a Mathews family reunion. Wonderful times were had by all and those memories of family together will forever live in our hearts. Mom will be greatly missed by her husband, Mindy, son Phil (Debbie), daughter Lori (Al), her grandkids, Brody, Nikki, Megan, Siggi, wee Emma and all of her sisters, brothers, many nieces and nephews, and her dear friend, Yosh. Our family is extremely grateful to the staff on 3West at Deer Lodge Hospital for the loving kindness and compassion in the care of Mom through her time there. Cremation has taken place and a service in celebration of Trudy's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Oak Point Community Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Service will conclude at the hall with a burial to be held at a later date the Oak Point (East) Cemetery. Arrangements by ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern - Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593
