RUTH DRIFTZ Our family is deeply saddened with the passing of our loving mother and grandmother, Ruth Driftz, on March 17, 2011. Ruth was born on September 17, 1929, and was predeceased by her loving husband Lloyd Driftz, her parents Lois and Leslie Gray, and her granddaughter Cassandra Scott. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Dawn Wiebe, Jodi Scott, Cara Memka and their families. Ruth also leaves behind her sister Shirley, brothers George and Dave as well as her 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her best friends Joan and Ernie, who made it a ritual to get together on a weekly basis for coffee. Those are the memories that Ruth treasured and spoke fondly of. Ruth worked for Canada Revenue Agency and after a long career retired in 2005. She also coached amateur swimming with the Manta Swim Club for many years. The family would like to thank the staff at Victoria General Hospital for their professionalism, care and compassion to Ruth, which was greatly appreciated. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lung Association.
