Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARMEN-LITTA (LITTI) MAGNUS Our sweet mother has passed away Sunday. She was predeceased by son, George and brother, Bjoern. In her earlier life, Litta was a photo-journalist and freelance writer for Winnipeg Free Press and other news papers. She was proud of her roots and wrote the book on her mother; Lale Andersen-die, Lili Marleen in 1981. She is survived by brother Michael of Germany, daughters: Anita, Suzy (Curtis), Jackie (Alan), two granddaughters (Calgary) and two granddaughters and daughter-in-law Sue (UK). She loved her four children and was very grateful and proud of them. She came back to Winnipeg in 2009 to spend her remaining years with her family but Litta's heart was always in Europe and missed her friends there dearly. She loved to laugh and enjoyed seeing a smile on the people who surrounded her. We would like to thank Fred Douglas Lodge and their staff, especially Gil, Melisa, Margaret, Dolly, Anita, and Tatiana, for their kind and considerate care for our mother. A special thanks to Jeff of Go-Orderly. In lieu of flowers, our mother's wishes are that donations can be made to any AID's organization. A celebration of her life will take place at the home of Suzy and Curtis Johnson on Friday, April 1 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. We will meet again ... Carmen-Litta Magnus August 26, 1927 - March 27, 2011

As a young boy I vividly remember my sister reading a letter she had received from this lady. My sister was serving in the ATS in Hamburg when they met. All I know is that my sister, who only had one eye, was greatly helped by this lady during her need for medical help concerning her artificial eye.
