EARL WILLIAMS MACKLING 1926 - 2011 Earl Williams Mackling, born February 20, 1926 died peacefully on March 25, 2011. He was predeceased by his wife Peggy and by his brother John Mackling. He is survived by daughters Judy (Bill Waddell), and Cindy; sister Elsie (Wayne); brothers David (Jeanne), and Alvin (Pat), grandsons David and Thomas, and five great-grandchildren. Earl was born and raised in St. James. His first employer was Morris Kligerman, who operated a book bindery. Earl became a very dedicated worker and he and Morris Kligerman became very close friends. When Morris died suddenly Earl bought the paper ruling machine and set up his own business. He subsequently worked for a number of printing firms, the last being Custom Cheques of Canada, where he was maintenance supervisor. Earl was a dedicated, loyal worker frequently devising improved systems to make operations more efficient. He loved the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. As a gardener, his tomato plants always produced bumper crops. He had a life-long love of animals, particularly dogs and horses. Earl was an avid Barbershopper and sang in several quartets over the years, including one with his three brothers, jokingly called the Argue Brothers. At Earl's request there will be no service. A private family interment will take place later. Close friends will gather at Earl's home on Thursday, March 31st. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses at the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview Hospital and a special thanks is extended to Earl's primary care nurse, Alma.
