MARGUERITE (RITA) GREEN (nee Mc Culley) 1917 - 2011 Peacefully, with her daughter by her side, Rita passed away at the Grace Hospital on March 26, 2011. Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter in 2002 and by her sister Nancy in 2000. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Pamela, her nephew Rick (Jane), niece Rita (Eric) and their families, plus numerous cousins, and several close friends. Rita was born in Winnipeg, April 2, 1917 to George and Mary McCulley. She lived in the West End of Winnipeg for a good part of her life, and graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. Prior to her marriage, she worked at Mitchell Copp Jewellers in the optical department. In 1953, she travelled to Birdham, Sussex, England to be married, and lived there for 18 months, before returning to Winnipeg with her husband and infant daughter. Rita was a lady and always wanted everything to be just right. She loved fine china and enjoyed using it when company came to visit. She took great pride in her home and family. Her husband and daughter were always her number one focus, before all else. Rita had a wonderful memory, especially with dates, often telling stories with great detail and accuracy. Special thanks to Dr. Borrett and Dr. Martin, and the wonderful nursing staff of 3 south, Grace Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue at 11:00 a.m., with The Rev. Ian Mills officiating.
