Date of Passing: Mar 28, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK ALEXANDER On Monday, March 28, 2011, Frank Alexander, tragically and with great sorrow, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 69 years, Tina; sons Douglas (Sandra), David and Michael (Deanna); daughters Barbara Alexander and Joanne Rislund; grandchildren Tom, Peter, Matthew, Jenna, Jason, Joanna, Kimberley, Dawn, James Syler, Gabe and Nate; 14 great-grandchildren and one sister Dolly Banks. He was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Fleming and Bobby Alexander. Frank was born and raised in Winnipeg, married Tina and joined the Navy at a young age and served in the Second World War. After the Navy, he moved his family to Churchill and worked for several years before coming home to reside in Winnipeg until his untimely death. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many years of travelling. Frank was a lover not a fighter. He was a kind person who enjoyed the spotlight and making people laugh. You could often find Frank at special occasions with his trusty video camera strapped to his hand, capturing all the action. Frank adored his bride Tina. She was everything to him and the center of his universe. You could always find him chasing her for a kiss and holding her hand in public. He never stopped telling Tina how beautiful she was, right to the end. Many heartfelt thanks is extended to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre - Emergency Department and Riverview for their care and kindness. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. The Honorary Pallbearers will be all his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to the Alzheimer's Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
