LAWRENCE ANDREW GUIBOCHE Peacefully, with his loving wife Rose by his side, Lawrence Guiboche passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Left to forever cherish Lawrence's memory is his wife Rose; children Allan (Lori), Janice (Robin), Valerie (Denis), Brian (Doreen), Dianne (Daniel), Darlene, Shirley (Gerald), Kerry (Donna), and Cory (Debbie); 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; as well as brothers Arthur, Robert; sisters Joyce, Anna; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Margaret Guiboche; sister Marie Badz and sister-in-law Patsy Guiboche. Lawrence was born on December 12, 1930 in Willow Bunch, SK. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1952. He served in Canada, Japan, and the Korean War as a Guardsman with the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI). Upon discharge, Lawrence returned home and worked at various employers, Brampton Pulp and Paper Mill in Red Rock, ON, Bird Construction, and for Browning and Ferris Industries (BFI) from where he retired due to health reasons. Spending his early years training as a boxer and a wrestler Lawrence continued to follow these sports throughout his life. He also enjoyed and participated in bowling, curling, and baseball, even coaching for his wife's baseball team. Lawrence was focused on spending time with his family. He was a keen outdoorsman and always said the best times were camping and fishing trips to the lake. His children will remember Gigi as he shared his love of playing the harmonica, card games, dice, and singing his favourite songs Old Man River and Two Little Fleas . He was a gentle soul, very kind, and loved by all. Gigi will truly be missed; his memories will live forever in us. On Friday, April 1, 2011 Lawrence's Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion, 3600 DeVries Street, East St. Paul, MB. A private Interment will be held at a later date. Special thanks to his caregivers Noel, Henry and Petros as well as the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lawrence's memory may be made to the Middlechurch Day Hospital Program.
