EDITH ELIZABETH MARY (BARB/BABS) ELLIS June 14, 1940 - March 23, 2011 It is with great sadness in our hearts to announce the passing of Babs, a loving sister, aunt, great aunt and friend after a short and courageous battle with cancer and a heart condition. Babs had a beautiful spirit, a generous heart and loved to celebrate at many family gatherings. She had many wonderful times visiting with family, playing cards, watching sports, shopping and sharing special family dinners. She especially loved the Christmas season. Her greatest love was her family and her professional career. She will be sincerely missed by all who knew and loved her. Babs was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Elsie Williams, her brothers, Leslie, Kenny and Johnny Williams, her sister Vicky Powers and her beloved niece Linda. Babs enjoyed a very close relationship with her surviving family: her sister, Peggy Taylor (Rob), her brother Bud Williams (Barbara), her nephew Joe Taylor (Marilyn) and her nephews George Williams (Nina), Danny Williams (Laura), and niece Christine Williams (Lance). Babs had a special loving relationship with her great-nieces Ashley and Stephanie Taylor and Jenna and Michelle Stacey over the years creating a number of wonderful memories. She also lovingly welcomed her great-nephew, Rick Campbell (Ashley) and her great-great-grand- niece Jordan. Babs enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the insurance business throughout her life and career across Canada. She was well respected by her peers and held many lengthy relationships and friendships with colleagues in many provinces. It was well known that Babs was very knowledgeable and knew her stuff providing information or support on a number of insurance issues. Overall, Babs was a remarkable, independent woman and a constant source of wisdom and encouragement. Babs maintained her grace through a series of difficult health events and endured challenging circumstances. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial service will be held. Family is mourning her passing privately.
