PAUL JOSEPH BEMBENEK 1930 - 2011 It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Paul Bembenek on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 80 years. Left to mourn Paul's memory are his wife Helen; sisters, Anna Bembenek, Rose Jurkowski (Henry), Jean Bembenek; brothers, Tony Bambenek (Betty), Nick Bembenek; children, Michael (Gail), Steven (Pam), Timothy, Lynne (Robert); seven grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Originally from Baldur, Paul was the youngest of 15 siblings. He was the loving husband of Helen Bembenek, with whom he resided most recently at their hobby farm in Anola, MB for the better part of the last two decades. He enjoyed more than anything to be outside tending to his garden, animals and dogs, rarely would you see him inside unless there was a Jays or Bombers game on TV. Paul built a family cottage at Twin Lakes Beach on Lake Manitoba so he could spend more time with family and friends. He loved his weekends at the beach, though it was hard to get him down to the lake for a swim - There's work to do . Prayers will be held on Sunday evening, April 3, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, Anola, MB. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday morning, April 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. also in the Church with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves, presiding. Pallbearers will be Michael, Timothy, Christopher and Daniel Bembenek and Brian Bambenek. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anna and Jean Bembenek, Michael Grigat and Niclas Bembenek. Special thanks the nurses and physicians of the MICU at Health Sciences Centre for their care, compassion and respect during Paul's final hours, you were a great comfort. Donations may be made in Paul's memory to the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, MS 107 - 820 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1R9. Dad, you will be missed, but always remembered
